The Germany military has hosted a forum to showcase unmanned vehicles from seven different countries.
Lt. Gen. Guenther Weiler, vice chief of the German army kicked off the event that took place late last month. Meanwhile, Dirk Ellinger, chief of modernization in the German defense ministry stressed that unmanned systems, particulary unmanned ground vehicles, will play an increasingly critical role in future combat.
The German military already uses a number of UAVs, so now it is trying to shift emphasis to UGVs.
Around 20 vehicles were put through their paces on a mini-proving ground. Missions to be demonstrated included reconnaissance, transport, security and protection.
