Barring the weather, the Airbus Military A400M airlifter is now expected to be flown for the first time the week of Dec. 7.

Ground test runs are “progressing satisfactorily” according to Airbus, and the company is now looking to Week 50 to fly the aircraft.

Finally getting the A400M airborne will be a considerable boost to the much-delayed program. The partner nations, however, are still trying to thrash out a revised deal with industry covering the project.
