787 - Countdown to first flight. Part 22

Intermediate gauntlet tests are continuing around-the-clock on ZA001, the first 787-8 on the flight line at Boeing’s Everett site, in the run-up to final gauntlet and, ultimately, first flight later this month.

The testing, confirmed by Boeing through Randy’s Journal, is now marching through blocks eight through 11. Initial block eight tests covered electrical, environmental control and hydraulic systems, and were completed late yesterday (June 1). Block nine covered additional hydraulics and flight controls tests, and was scheduled to wrap up earlier today. No word yet on if that has, in fact, been completed. Blocks 10 and 11 include yet more flight controls and ECS work, with completion of these tests due sometime late Tuesday.
