The NTSB and the Maryland State Police (MSP) disagree about some of the facts behind the fatal crash of an MSP helicopter last fall, reports the Aviation Week Intelligence Network (subscribers only).  The Safety Board yesterday issued a summary of its findings regarding the midnight Sept. 27, 2008 crash of an Aerospatiale (Eurocopter) SA365N during a non-precision, localizer approach to Andrews AFB outside Washington, D.C.

Cargo operator Atlas Air is getting into the premium passenger charter business, reports ATWOnline.  The air carrier will ferry people between Houston Intercontinental and Luanda, Angola, using two custom executive-class 747-400s.

Those who bash business aviation should know that the industry supports the Corporate Angel Network, which arranges free transportation on business aircraft for cancer patients, reports General Aviation News. CAN, in service for 27 years, has provided more than 20,000 free trips, which translates to more than 2,500 flights a year.   The publication also posts about the increased numbers of light sport aircraft flying.
