AIR NEW ZEALAND

Air New Zealand finished third in total score among medium-sized airlines. The airline raised its score to 61 in 2005 from 22 in 2001, which was the highest increase in its category as well as the largest gain of all airlines. The carrier benefited from sharp operational improvements and a new chief executive who is pushing to cut costs and maximize revenue.
