SOUTHWEST AIRLINES


Southwest Airlines placed third in total score among large airlines, and was the only carrier from North America in the top 10. The carrier ranked especially well in the Operating Performance metric. The company had revenue of nearly $7.6 billion in 2005. Full-year unit costs, excluding fuel, fell 1.5% to 6.37 cents, some of the lowest in the industry.
