American Airlines today revealed more details on the interiors of its new Boeing 777-300s and A320 family aircraft, which will be delivered from November 2013 through 2014. Read the full press release here. Perhaps the most interesting item in today's announcement is the seat configuration on its transcontinental narrowbody. The carrier is keeping a three-class configuration on the A321s, which will replace its 767-200s on the JFK to San Fransisco and JFK to Los Angeles transcontinental routes. The new aircraft will be fitted with just 102 seats in its transcon coast-to-coast fleet, with 10 lie flat seats in first class in a 1-1 configuration. 20 lie flat seats in business class in a 2-2 layout, down from 30 cradle style seats on the 767s. Economy, or Main Cabin, and Main Cabin Extra with more legroom, will each have 36 seats in a 3-3-3 configuration, reducing the economy cabin offering by 56 seats. The 767s currently have 128 seats in economy class. Here's how the seats will look on the A321 transcon. All photos © American Airlines. Main Cabin Business Class First Class
