LAN launched its 16th route within Chile today as its A320 landed at Mocopulli Airport on Chiloe Island, which is part of the Chiloe Archipelago off the western coast of Chile in the Pacific. LAN CEO Enrique Elsaca in a press release says this route should help promote economic and tourist development of Chiloe. Given the blue whales, dolphins, penguins, UNESCO heritage site churches and verdant rain forests here, just reading about this route makes me want to go! It sounds like a gorgeous place. LAN will operate four weekly flights from Santiago, via a stop-over at Puerto Montt, with the A320s. According to LAN's website, here are the rest of its routes:
