Flying The Gulfstream G650
Aviation Week's resident test pilot Fred George was the first journalist to fly Gulfstream's new twin-engine, long-range business jet, the G650. Fred's extensive evaluation of the G650, along with data and project dimensions, can be read in the April issue of Aviation Week's Business & Commercial Aviation magazine. It's also the cover story of the March 25 issue of Aviation Week & Space Technology. You can read it online here. During the flight test, we used three cameras on the flight deck to give you multiple perspectives. Watch Fred putting the G650 through its paces, with full stall and recovery, and testing the airframe's performance, cruising at Mach 0.9— nine-tenths the speed of sound. See why Fred calls this "pilot's airplane" the "ultra-long-range business jet class champion."
