Adrian Beirne, engineering manager for Jetstar Pacific Airlines, said it's important not to just check for big things like engines, landing gear and airframe, but also to look for the little things, like seat covers. Yes, not seats but seat covers, for which lease return conditions can cost millions of dollars. To combat this, Beirne told MRO Asia attendees today that Jetstar Pacific has taken off the seat covers on newly delivered leased aircraft, put them in storage, and reinstalled them at the time of lease return.
