We just concluded the "Addressing the Manpower Issues through Partnerships and Training" session here at MRO Middle East (see our live coverage), and one major point of discussion in the question and answer session was poaching people from other airlines and MROs here in the region. Alan Shuttleworth, head of technical training Abu Dhabi for SR Technics, pointed out it's not just about poaching and freedom of movement for employees: it's also about attracting and retaining. "If a person is happy where he is, he won't be poached."
