FAA already has issued FIVE airworthiness directives today--two related to fuselage cracks and three related to fuel systems. Here's a summary of them in alphabetical order: 1. Airbus A300 and A310 aircraft need fuel system and related wiring inspections to insure fuel tank safety. 2. Various Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft face modifications based on similar fuel system concerns. 3. BAE 146 and Avro 146 RJ aircraft must be inspected for fuselage cracks near the water trap/air dryer unit. 4. Boeing 737-500s must be inspected for chem-mill step cracking in the lower fuselage. (Remember the Southwest Airlines decompression incident?) 5. And last but not least, Bombardier DHC-8 aircraft face fuel line modifications.
