While the Boeing 787-10 launch and aircraft/engine orders might have captured more headlines, the aviation aftermarket certainly made a lot of news from the Paris Air Show today. Here are some highlights:

    * HOP!-Regional signed a long-term component support agreement with Spairliners for E-170 and E-190 aircraft. The regional carrier also selected Spairliners JV partner AFI KLM E&M to support components on 23 ATR 42/72 aircraft. In addition, AFI KLM E&M signed an A320 component support contract with IndiGo.

*Travel Service Airlines selected AJW Aviation to provide component support over five years for 27 Boeing 737-700 and -800 aircraft.

*ST Aerospace signed a $28 million maintenance-by-the-hour component contrat with Spring Airlines of Japan.

*Sabena technics became an authorized member of  Honeywell MRO network. This extends their 20-year partnership.

*Bell Helicopter's facility in Prague received expanded Design Organizational Approval from EASA for performing major changes to primary structures and cabins on all Bell models.

*Bristow Group is upgrading 44 helicopters with Rockwell Collins' TCAS II system.

*GE Aviation announced that Japan Airlines signed an OnPoint material agreement for its GE90 fleet worth $500 million. JAL will overhaul and repair the engines, but GE will provide materials and repair management services. JAL operates 24 GE90-powered Boeing 777s.

*LATAM Airlines selected CFM56-5B engines to power up to 50 A320ceo and A321ceo aircraft. The engines and maintenance agreement, which is by flight hour, together are worth about $1.1 billion.

*Etihad Airways selected Taleris' Web-based Intelligent Operations prognostics system to monitor the airline's Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Taleris is a GE/Accenture JV.

*Air Canada signed a 15-year OnPoint MRO agreement with GE for its GEnx-1B engines. The parties didn't disclose the contract value. JetBlue Airways also signed a OnPoint agreement with GE. The 10-year contract covers CF34-10E engines that power 58 Embraer E190s.
