  • Boeing MAX Slowly Closing Ground on Airbus NEO

    With Boeing finalizing its 201 737 MAX deal with Lion Air (it included also 29 737-900ERs) and Airbus announcing 35 additional NEO orders from Alafco (already booked at year-ent, but not disclosed), the lead the European manufacturer has in firm orders for the two reengined single-aisle offerings is shrinking.

    But Airbus has entered 2012 with such a commanding lead, Boeing still has some ways to go to get near parity -- the U.S. aircraft maker says it will be within range of Airbus by year end.
