    After two generations of preparation, China’s space industry is about to leapfrog the rest of the world in a host of space applications. That is just a portion of the insight into China’s space program gained by Aviation Week’s team of space writers -- Frank Morring, Amy Svitak and Bradley Perrett -- during the recent International Astronautical Congress in Beijing.
    They also found that businesses in China are courting global sales with sophisticated product lines and scoring results with an exported remote sensing satellite to Venezuela. But suspicion about China’s military space program remains, and enhancements in that area continue to give its critics room to argue against closer cooperation.
