    The success of the U.S. ballistic missile defense system depends on often overlooked technologies that make up its sensor architecture. In Aviation Week’s Aug. 5/12 double issue, Amy Butler compares the Pentagon’s original plan for a missile defense architecture with where it is today and how it may evolve in the future. The changes in sensor architecture have widened the possibilities for kill-vehicle technologies, and the package will explore the Missile Defense Agency's options on that front.
