Our Apr. 22 special package looks at several aspects of the cockpit of the future. We analyze the technological and economic angles of future cockpits and detail which companies and possible technologies are involved.
We also look at the research into human factors. As pilots have to deal with ever more complex cockpits, manufacturers find ways to enable pilots to take advantage of technology and improve safety rather than confuse them. Pilot training is therefore another important aspect. We raise the question as to how training needs to change to keep up with the next generation of cockpits.
