    Almost 1,500 jobs in Minnesota could be lost as Delta negotiates with the state to revise loan terms originally negotiated between Northwest Airlines and the Metropolitan Airports Commission, reports the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

    LA/Ontario International Airport has opened a new $70 million inline baggage screening system in Terminal 2, reports Airports (subscribers only).

    Singapore’s Changi Airport has decided to extend its Air Hub Development Fund, due to expire Dec. 31, and expand its budget by 30%, reports Aviation Daily (subscribers only).  The SGD130 million (US$88 million) fund, first created in January 2003, was designed to help airlines affected by uncertainty faced by the global aviation industry back then. It also helped strengthen Singapore’s position as an aviation hub in the region.

    BAA is expected to lose its appeal to the UK Competition Commission on its ruling that the airports operator sell off 2 of its London airports, along with a Scottish facility, reports the Telegraph.
