Just to provide an update on two previous posts, the House today passed an FAA Reauthorization Bill that includes the controversial provision on union representation votes at airlines and railroads. An amendment to strip the language from the bill failed by 206-220 vote, but it might have drawn enough Republican support (16 votes) to ensure it gets killed in conference committee. The Senate, with its Democratic majority, has shown no inclination to vote for a bill that includes it. And the Obama Administration this week warned the president might veto any FAA Reauthorization Bill that includes it.
