CNBC interviewed Hawaiian Airlines president and CEO Mark Dunkerly yesterday. No major revelations but a good quick overview of the airline's success (one of the hosts, Larry Kudlow, pegs the share price up 200% and profitability up four-fold since last year). Asked about industry consolidation, Dunkerly says it's always "out there in the ether" and that there's an "industrial logic" to it—it's just hard to do. He also firmly endorses deregulation, which is less of a universal view in the industry than it used to be.
