Asahi Shimbun reports flight ops won't completely return to normal at Tokyo Narita until Wednesday. And it quotes an unnamed safety source: According to a safety board source, the crash of FedEx Flight No. 80 may have been caused by circumstances "beyond the scope of assumption" of the crew and the aircraft's stabilizing devices. The FedEx plane is believed to have lost lifting power, possibly because the headwind suddenly stopped, and fell with its nose up, the sources said. The plane made hard landing on its main landing gear while tilting backward. Yesterday's stories said a wind shear warning had been issued before the accident. This AP report says the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder were discovered.
