Etihad Crystal Cargo will become the first operator of Airbus A330-200F freighters. It was once Flyington Freighters, but economic realities have caused a change.
The aircraft maker says it is still targeting a November first flight for the first A330-220F (pictured above). The freighter is due for European Aviation Safety Agency and FAA certification in the spring.
Etihad is buying three of the aircraft. Overall, the Airbus order book for the aircraft type stands at 65 unit. It was higher, but the severe drop in air freight has led to cancellations. It also caused Airbus to slow the development program.
