  • FAA goes to the ballpark

I've got to admit, I'm not much of a baseball fan... I much prefer the original version (cricket, that is). However, I wish I had been at Nationals Stadium on Sept. 8 -- which was, apparently, FAA Day at the Ballpark.

There are a few more details and photos here on the FAA website. Agency administrator Randy Babbitt announced the start of the game, and COO Hank Krakowski delivered the team lineups to the umpire. The announcer gave a little spiel about the importance of the FAA, and about 300 FAA employees and their families showed up to watch the Nats get beaten by the Phillies.

There is no truth to the rumor that Babbitt was scouting for an ace closing pitcher to be the next FAA deputy administrator. That reminds me -- when are we going to see a nomination for this role? The rumor mill is extremely quiet on this one. I know he's been busy, but its a pretty important job.
