  • Babbitt addresses Washington airspace safety

There has been a lot of press lately on an apparent rise in operational errors in the skies over Washington, DC. I don't think there is a particular problem in Washington, but the debate has highlighted some interesting issues with FAA's voluntary reporting program, and how that can affect the statistics.

FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt spoke on Kojo Nnamdi's popular radio show about this issue.
Go to this link and click on "listen." It's a pretty interesting interview.

After the Babbitt piece, there is another interview on the subject with New York Times reporter Matt Wald.
