More Oneworld alliance airlines are interested in forging interline or code-share links with JetBlue through New York John F. Kennedy International Airport, says American CEO Gerard Arpey.Commenting after a Oneworld board event in Los Angeles on April 8, Arpey said some other alliance CEOs have expressed their desire to initiate discussions with JetBlue. American and JetBlue reached an interline deal last week, and indicated they are considering deeper links including connecting frequent flyer programs.Arpey said he “wouldn’t be surprised to see many of [the Oneworld] partners talking to JetBlue as well.” British Airways CEO Willie Walsh said that although BA is not yet holding discussions with JetBlue, he has always been impressed with the U.S. low-cost carrier and “would definitely be interested in looking at [a JetBlue relationship] it the opportunity arose.”
