The FAA has named Sasha Johnson as its new head of communications, filling another of the FAA’s political appointee spots that have been vacant since the Obama administration took over. Johnson, pictured above, will be assistant administrator for communications. FAA has yet to put out a press release, but she apparently starts Monday.
Johnson is currently press secretary and primary spokesperson for DOT, and before that was a producer at CNN. At DOT, she will be replaced by her deputy, Olivia Alair. Alair was a spokeswoman for the Obama campaign in Ohio and before that worked in then-Senator Joe Biden’s office. Photo source: FAA.
