With Airbus booking merely six new aircraft orders in February (Cathay Pacific's deal for six A350-900 -- aircraft that it was going to lease from Alafco which has now reduced its A350-900 backlog to 12 aircraft from 18), the lead Boeing has over its rival in aircraft orders year-to-date is growing.Boeing, expected to end the year well ahead of Airbus, has already booked more than 50% of the gross order total its rival projects for the full year.Here is the current state of play (Airbus figures current through Feb. 29, Boeing's through March 6):
