The aircraft maker is hoping to deliver the first of the aircraft next summer. The A330-200F program initially had tremendous market success, but recent woes in the cargo sector have caused the pace of orders to stall and also led to some cancellation, although MNG Cargo recently added to its order total. As it stands, Airbus has nine customers and 67 firm orders. Airbus recently announced the aircraft would be able to carry around 500 kg. more payload, after the aircraft maker was able to shave about that much from the manufacturer’s empty weight. Airbus says it plans to hand the aircraft over to the flight-test department before month’s end to commence ground trials in advance of the November first flight.
