FedEx made several low passes of its new 767, N101FE, over a crowd of FedEx employees at Memphis International Airport today, ceremoniously introducing the new type into the fleet.

After a low-speed and high-speed pass, the aircraft landed and taxied to the crowd with a water cannon salute.

As is customary with all FedEx aircraft, N101FE was named "Hannah" after a child of a FedEx employee. Seven-year-old Hannah was on hand to see her name on the side, as well as accept a 767 model as a gift.

FedEx is expected to begin 767 service in November on domestic routes. The aircraft will replace FedEx's aging widebodies, including MD-10s.
