This may be the big week for the Boeing 787, but Airbus is quick to point out its rival product, the A350, is also on the horizon.
It would be a stretch to say the A350 is close behind, but in recent weeks and months, key elements of the Airbus twin widebody have started to emerge.
Here are pictures of some of the major structures now completed, including today's release of an image of the first nose section, built at Airbus's St. Nazaire facility in France.
