Even after they signed contracts, the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace, Local 2001, and Boeing are still battling about the talks that brought about the agreement covering engineering and technical workers through 2016.

Last November, Speea charged that Boeing violated the National Labor Relations Act by threatening employees for talking about potential layoffs during the contact talks. It also said Boeing had withheld pertinent information.

Boeing denies that it disciplined anyone inappropriately or withheld information.

The director of Region 19 of the National Labor Relations Board, which covers Seattle, has sided with Speea.

That triggers the next act in the drama on Aug. 6, when an administrative law judge of the NLRB will hear the charges.

It’s worth remembering that a month later Boeing determined the talks had grown so fractious that it called in federal mediators. They stayed with the two sides until Speea members voted to accept Boeing’s offer.
