In Embraer's 3rd quarter 2012 orders and deliveries report, it has been revealed that CIT cancelled four of 10 Embraer 190s it ordered in November 2011. However, in an apparent related move, CIT took over four Embraer 175s originally ordered by Alitalia and leased them to the carrier upon delivery. Although Alitalia ordered 20 E-Jets in March 2011, each order has been tranferred to a lessor prior to delivery with Alitalia subsequently leasing the aircraft. In addition, an undisclosed customer ordered three Embraer 170s in the 3rd quarter 2012. Total backlog for Embraer's E-Jet series now stands at 178, down from 200 the previous quarter.
