ATR has received clearance for airline customers to operate the ATR 72-500 into London City Airport.
The approval allows Aer Arann, the first user of the turboprop at the London facility, to fly a 5.5 deg. approach and still meet airport noise criteria.
ATR recently completed a series of trials to validate the use of the ATR 72-500 at London City.
Aer Arann today flew its first ATR 72-500 flight from London City to the Isle of Man.
London City has other big things in its future. In the fall, British Airways is expected to launch its A318 service from there to New York.
