An A330-200, built in 2001 and previously operated by British Midland Airways, was ferried to Orlando Sanford airport on Thursday, believed to be for scrapping. If true, this would be the first part-out of an A330-200. Until this month, there has been only one other A330 part-out. A 1994 A330-300, previously operated by Aer Lingus, was flown to Greenwood, MS, in April 2011 for part-out. This month, three ex-Malaysian Airlines A330-300s have been sold for part out. The first one, built in 1995, was flown to Tupelo, MS, earlier this month for part-out. The next two, built in 1994 and 1995, are expected to follow shortly. The oldest A330-300 in service was built in 1992 and is currently being operated by Cathay Pacifc Airways while the oldest A330-200 in service was built in 1997 and is currently being operated by TAP Air Portugal.
