Boeing 787 Pilot Report
A bunch of new patents have been assigned to Airbus by the US Patent and Trademark Office. They are for a range of unusual aircraft tails, some of which look like they are designed to work with open-rotor engines. Known as "ornamental designs" in patent-speak, the tails have been invented by Olivier Cazals, who has a number of other Airbus patents to his name.
Here are just some of his designs (engine pylons are shown, but not the engines themselves, so speculate away):
