Lufthansa subsidiary Air Dolomiti today has begun operations using its first Embraer 195 regional jet.

The service moves Air Dolomiti into a new era, inaugurating operations with an aircraft seating more than 100 passengers. The Embraer 195 is fitted with 116 seats. The milestone comes as the airline also celebrates its 20th year of service.

The airline also operates ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprops, as well as five BAE 146 RJs. The carrier is due to field five Embraer 195s this year.
