American says preparations for its planned investment in Japan Airlines are in "advanced stage" (WSJ); Japanese Ministry of Transport says it hasn't heard a peep out of them (Bloomberg); United said to be closing in on choice between A350WXB and the 787 (Chicago Tribune); and here's a wonderful slide show by the Los Angeles Times comparing A380 interiors from Air France, Qantas, Emirates, and Singapore Airlines. There are 21 slides, and though some of the photos are a bit too promotional for this hard-bitten two-fisted blogger, it shows there really are some significant differences.
