The Senate Commerce Committee is today holding confirmation hearings for three transportation roles that will have a lot of significance for the aviation industry.
They are Susan Kurland, nominated as DOT’s assistant secretary for aviation and international affairs; Chris Bertram (a current Commerce Committee staff member), nominated as DOT’s assistant secretary for budget and programs and CFO; and Christopher Hart, nominated as a member of the National Transportation Safety Board.
Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.) praised the nominees, and said he is working with the committee’s ranking member Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tex.) “to make sure the Senate moves as quickly as possible on these important nominations.”
