The 99th A380 to be delivered went to China Southern Airlines last week, which was also China Southern's fifth and last A380 it had on order. China Southern ordered five A380s in May 2005 and took delivery of them between October 2011 and Feburary 2013. The 100th A380 delivery, to Malaysia Airlines, is due to take place shortly. For trivia buffs, the 100th 747 delivery was a 747-200B to Japan Airlines in February 1971. Boeing took only 14 months to deliver 100 747s back in the early 1970s, which Boeing and Airbus surely wish they could do today with their respective double-deckers.
