    The FAA and the U.K. CAA have teamed up to remind maintenance providers about the role they play in preventing onboard fires, particularly "hidden" ones that start in places that, once the plane is built, only mechanics see.  

    While the CAA acknowledges that hidden in-flight fires are rare, the results are all too often catastrophic. The campaign's centerpiece is the video embedded below. 

    That the campaign, developed over months, was unveiled just a few weeks after damaged wiring (albeit not from a maintenance event) quickly became the focus of the Ethiopian Boeing 787 fire at Heathrow merely underscores its relevance.
