  • ATR Claims Market Dominance
Posted by Robert Wall 9:07 AM on Nov 14, 2011

With its year-to-date order intake hitting another record, at 148 units, ATR says it is not just doing well in absolute figures, but also in terms of marketshare.

The Franco-Italian turboprop maker says it has secured 80% of marketshare in  the regional aircraft segment. That is not just compared to its turboprop rivals, but also counting regional jets.
There are caveats, of course. The comparison includes regional jets only up to 90 seats, so omits the Embraer E190/195, for instance.

ATR CEO Filippo Bagnato concedes that situation may very well not last, but for now it is a situation he's happy to show off.
