Posted by Adrian Schofield 12:53 AM on Sep 30, 2010

In case you were wondering, some of United Airlines top talent will not be out of work long following the merger of United and Continental.

Widely-respected United CFO Kathryn Mikells has just agreed to join water treatment giant Nalco as executive VP and CFO. She will start her new job on completion of the airline merger.

Mikells is one of several United senior executives that will not have a role at the merged carrier. Continental CFO Zane Rowe will continue in this role for the new airline.

Nalco describes itself as “the world’s leading water treatment and process improvement company.” It has more than 11,500 employees in 150 countries, and reported 2009 sales of $3.7 billion.

Mikells joined United in 1994 as an analyst. She was named CFO of UAL Corp. in August 2008, and executive VP in July 2009.
