Every airline or airline group has to have an environmental platform these days, and the Oneworld alliance is no exception. The group has just updated its own green platform, posting a substantial summary on its website. It’s no surprise they have done this – like I said, its pretty much compulsory these days. But it is still interesting to see what they are doing, from the perspective of both the alliance and individual airlines. The entire document -- with a lot of airline-by-airline detail -- can be seen here. A major focus is the alliance’s collective order book for more-efficient aircraft. The Oneworld carriers have 650 aircraft on order, worth more than $90 billion. This is 60 more than a year ago, with the additional orders worth $15 billion.
