    Merger news: The Australian government is giving signs that it would not stand in the way of a Qantas-British Airways merger. 

    The worst is probably yet to come for traffic on transatlantic routes, the head of British Airways' Americas division says (Aviation Daily subscriber- only story).

    JetBlue founder and former CEO David Neeleman appeared on Fox Business earlier this week to discuss the pending launch of his new Brazilian low-cost carrier, Azul. The most interesting tidbit may be this: At the time Neeleman gave this interview, with his carrier scheduiled to begin service Dec. 15, the airline still didn't have the Brazilian government's permission to begin selling tickets!
