  • Upgraded Trent 1000 Undergoing Noise Tests On 787
Posted by Guy Norris 6:18 PM on Sep 25, 2011

Boeing is currently to conducting noise tests of the 787 powered by the upgraded "Package B" Rolls-Royce Trent 1000.

The engine-airframe combination is undergoing certification on test aircraft ZA004, and will power ANA's first long-haul 787-8s.

Boeing is yet to confirm which will be the first 787 to fly with production-standard, Package B engines. The latest aircraft off the line for ANA and the second to be delivered, line number 24, made its initial sortie from Everett on Sept. 24.

The aircraft is believed to be targeted for delivery to ANA in late October, and will be the airline's second 787.
