We’re having a week of nostalgia here at Things With Wings. Bradley Perrett is pondering the profitability of the longest scheduled flight on a 747 back in 1974. Max Kingsley-Jones has been reminiscing about BA’s retro 757 paint job. And fast forward a few decades, Michael Mecham is flicking through a book commemorating the birth of the Dreamliner. How appropriate then that Air France is commemorating sixty years of flying from Paris to Montreal. The route was first flown on a Lockheed Constellation 749 back in October 1950. On 7 October the airline is, for the first time, putting on a special return flight between the two cities on an Airbus A380.Watch a video commemorating the history of the route here.
