  • Airblue A321 crashes in Pakistan

    An A321 belonging to Airblue airlines crashed on approach to Islamabad on July 28, with fatalities reported among the 152 persons (including six crew members) on board.
    Flight ED202 was due to depart Karachi around 7:30 a.m. local time and was due in Islamabad at 9:30 a.m. The crash occurred around 9:45 a.m.
    Privately owned Airblue has been in operation since 2004 and operates a fleet of A320s and A321s.
    Airbus says the aircraft (MSN1218) was registered as AP-BJB and leased to the airline in January 2006. The aircraft had logged 34,000 flight hours and 13,500 flights. It was powered by International Aero Engines V2500 engines.
