Japan’s ANA is marking its return to tsunami-damaged Sendai Airport by painting a message of encouragement on some of its aircraft.ANA is putting the message “Forward together as one, Japan” across the fuselage of five aircraft that fly domestic and international routes. It will be in English on a Boeing 777 and 767, and in Japanese on a 777, 767 and 737. The livery will first be seen on April 13, when ANA flights resume to Sendai airport. The message is intended to support the recovery of Japan and the Tohoku region following the earthquake and tsunami. Its kind of a nice idea, I think. We see plenty of advertising or promotional images, but this one is a very visible national rallying cry. Heck, why not put it on all the aircraft? Here is the message in English, and below is how it will look in Japanese on a 737 (the message is above the windows, behind the ANA logo).
