Boeing officially announced it received U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification on Friday for the 747-8 Freighter. The FAA granted Boeing an Amended Type Certificate (ATC) and an Amended Production Certificate for the 747-8 Freighter, while the EASA also granted the company an ATC.

The certification clears the way for deliveries to Cargolux, the launch customer, to commence in early September. Subscribers to the Aviation Week Intelligence Network can see more details here.
