In July 2012, Embraer announced that Venezuelan carrier Conviasa had placed an order for six Embraer 190s with the first delivery taking place by the end of 2012. Such a small time frame between an order and first delivery usually hints at an order for aircraft that have already been built with the original customer unable or unwilling to take delivery. As expected, Conviasa took delivery last week of an Embraer 190 originally destined for Ukrainian carrier Aerosvit Airlines. Aerosvit ordered five Embraer 190s in January 2011, but has only taken delivery of two of them so far with the remaining three having been built but undelivered. It is believed that Conviasa will also take delivery of these remaining undelivered aircraft. In addition, Republic Airlines cancelled one Embraer 190 in Spring 2012. The aircraft, having already been built but never delivered, will also now go to Conviasa.
